Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, which lasts 29 or 30 days. It is the Islamic month of fasting, in which participating Muslims avoid from eating, drinking and sexual intimacy which their partner during daylight hours and is intended to teach Muslims about patience, spirituality, and humanity to God. Ramadan is a time of spiritual reflection and worship. Muslims are expected to put more effort into following the teachings of Islam and to avoid obscene and irreligious sights and sounds Muslims fast for sake of God and to offer more prayer than usual.

In addition to fasting, Muslims are encouraged to read the entire Qur’an. Some of Muslims perform the reading of the entire Qur’an by means of special prayers, called, “Tarawih”, which are held in the mosques every night of the month. Therefore the entire Qur’an would be completed at the end of the month.

Furthermore, charity is very important in Islam, and even more during Ramadan. According to tradition, Ramadan is a particularly blessed time to give in charity, as the reward is 70 times greater than any other time of the year. Because of this, Muslims will spend more charity, and many will pay their zakat during Ramadan, to receive the reward. If we paid the zakat, it means we had helped the poor.

            In conclusion, Ramadan is the best month in a year. If we miss it, of course we will regret for it. So, have a nice day in Ramadan.
